- Prepare quince by peeling, dicing and blanching.
- Bring the mixture of water, vinegar, sugar and cloves to a boil. Once at a steady boil add in minced onion and quince.
- Cook slowly for 30 to 45 minutes. Add in a few additional tablespoons of sugar as needed.
- Put on top of cream cheese as an hors d'evoeure and serve with crackers or use on your favorite grilled cheese sandwich as a fun twist.
Alternatives to quince are dried figs, prunes or even red onions.
