< 2007 Founder's Block Chardonnay

COMPLETE TASTING NOTES

Chalk Hill Founder's Block Chardonnay is only produced in exceptional Chardonnay vintages from our “Founder’s Block” vineyard planted in 1974. The vines produce highly concentrated fruit at very low yields. The clusters are selectively harvested for optimum ripeness. Fermented in barrel and aged on its lees for 17 months without racking, this wine was bottled without fining or filtration and went from barrel to bottle on the same day. Aromas and flavors are vast and ever-evolving: gardenia, ginger, wet stone, and fresh red apple are constant themes across vintages. The fruit from these beautiful heritage vines creates a balanced wine—its acid, fruit and texture all commingle into the sublime, providing exceptional longevity in bottle. This wine can be cellared for at least ten years.
