WINEMAKER'S NOTES

With origins from Bordeaux, Sauvignon Gris is a clone of Sauvignon blanc and grown at few vineyards in Bordeaux and Chile. Being leaders in Sauvignon blanc winegrowing and clonal research, we planted Sauvignon gris in 1995 and are likely the only producers in California. This rare and exciting grape is a wonderful blending tool for our Estate Sauvignon blanc, offering richness and ripe stone fruit character. In 2006, our Sauvignon gris yielded an extraordinarily complex and unique wine, perfect for our Chairman’s Club. The wine combines hazelnut and sweet oak with tropical fruit, finishing with a burst of mango, guava and lychee.
