Peter's Vineyard Merlot

WINEMAKER'S NOTES

Grapes for this wine came from Peter's Vineyard, the oldest Merlot vineyard on the Chalk Hill Estate. Ideal southwest exposure and moderating soil naturally limited yields to fewer than three tons per acre, making this extraordinary fruit ideal for our first release of Estate Vineyard Selection Merlot. The resulting wine is a vivid ruby red, with a bouquet dense in raspberry, lavender and plum infused with smoke and chocolate. This full-bodied Merlot is lushly textured and the succulent tannins mesh seamlessly into the intense flavors and chewy, lingering finish.
