The 1999 Adele’s Vineyard Merlot harmonized in barrel for twenty months; aging occurred in French oak (85% new) from the very best coopers. Bottling happened without fining or filtration, a practice consistent with Chalk Hill Estate’s winemaking philosophies. The 1999 Adele’s Vineyard Merlot exhibits an opaque purple color along with pure, intense aromas of black currant, mocha, and spice, with hints of lavender. The opulent, full-bodied texture is layered with rich flavors of blackberries, cassis and earth. 479 cases produced.
