The sandstone knoll of Adele’s vineyard provides low yields of intense fruit; in 1998 this block produced just 3 tons per acre, totaling 444 cases at bottling. After fermentation with native yeasts, the wine spent two years in small French oak barrels, and exhibits ripe plum, earth black cherry and violets in the bouquet. The structure is soft, expansive tannins, with rich flavors of berries, chocolate and plums.
