2001 Estate Vineyard Selection Chardonnay

WINEMAKER'S NOTES

Native fermentation brought nuance, complexities and greater elegance to the wine. Sur lie aging and batonage in roughly 55% new French oak barrels for 18 months provide additional textural richness. We blended by careful barrel-to-barrel selection, choosing the sixteen barrels showing the richest, most opulent wine for this premier blend. Effusive tropical fruit aromas of apricot and fig weave through the floral, nutmeg, and mineral flavors, all wrapped together in a sleek package, almost viscous in texture and endless in its purity and length
