1999 Estate Vineyard Selection Chardonnay

WINEMAKER'S NOTES

The fruit from Block B of our Oak Hill Vineyard is vinified with precision worthy of such an extraordinary vineyard. The vineyard at once drains excessive moisture, yet nourishes the grapes, so that they grow and thrive. The 25 year-old vines provide intensely concentrated fruit. After an exemplary harvest in early October, the grapes were carefully whole cluster pressed, fermented with only natural yeasts, and allowed to continue through malolactic fermentation. Frequent stirring of the lees encourages flavor development.
