She previously worked as winemaker and manager for Frogtown Cellars in Georgia.“We are excited to have Jordan as part of our winemaking team here at Chalk Hill,” said Steve Leveque, vice president and winemaker at Chalk Hill Estate. “She is a proven winemaker and her winemaking techniques are consistent with the high standards at Chalk Hill.” Fiorentini’s prior wine experience includes working at Antinori-Tenuta Tignanello in Italy where she worked in the winery’s experimental vineyard. Prior to that, she worked as a research and teaching assistant at the University of California at Davis in the Department of Viticulture and Enology. Earlier in her winemaking career, Fiorentini worked as a harvest intern for Araujo Estate and Cuvaison, both in Calistoga, and for Markham Vineyards in St. Helena. She has a master’s degree in viticulture and enology from the University of California at Davis and a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College. Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards and Winery was founded by Fred Furth in 1972 as an integrated wine estate similar to those he admired in Europe. Today this 1,340-acre estate in the Chalk Hill appellation of Sonoma County, created by Fred and his wife Peggy, includes 350 acres of vineyards, a winery, a hospitality center and culinary garden, residence, offices, stables, equestrian pavilion, sports fields, fishing and swimming ponds, guest houses and wilderness areas. The winery hand-crafts Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Furth, a Bordeaux varietal proprietary blend.
